Letter from the CEO: Driblab continues to skyrocket during transfer windows.

Published:22/06/2023

Dear all,

At the beginning of a new transfer market, and at a time when the industry is experiencing the entry of relevant players in a context of permanent expansion in all continents, I would like to tell you something important that describes the path, evolution and future of Driblab since its foundation.

Balance and experience in the last five years

Since 2017 we have developed, settled and perfected a work methodology that has been reflected in different directions.Advice and analysis in terms of transfers is the most direct and beneficial support we give our clients. Since the 2018 summer transfer window we have supported clubs in over 450 transfers, adding up to 1.4 billion euros in just paid transfers – through our advice and consultancy based on our own proprietary methodology those players are now worth significant more: the players suggested and signed by our customers vs. the ones they did by themselves have resulted in a 13x higher valuation than those signed without our advice, according to values provided by Transfermarkt, a proven industry reference at a global level in the valuation of players.

Using data to make decisions supported by the criteria of our team of professionals brings substantial and constant benefits over time. In these almost six years, comparing the transfers made by our clients with those made by the rest of the teams in their corresponding leagues, we have seen that the latter had a devaluation of 21.2%, while those made with our support and advice did not lose value as a whole. Having two previous filters such as technology and a team of experts in the analysis of the game and the transfer market crucially reduces error and uncertainty in decisions of enormous economic importance.

To achieve this influence, Driblab has proven how day-to-day support, between transfer windows, has been instrumental in the decisions of different departments and in the trust shown by clubs of great diversity. Without listening to the motivations and needs of each client, data only works in static scenarios and is therefore incomplete and insufficient. Throughout 2023, we have gained the trust of clubs from the Spanish LaLiga or Ligue 1, as well as new alliances in Mexico, Brazil, MLS, Israel or Saudi Arabia, which certifies one of our hallmarks: the adaptability of our methodology to the needs of each client.

A relevant detail where our experience has been key lies in the drastic change a club can undergo when it loses its status and needs to adjust all its standards to something new. From one day to the next they may need to find players at the end of their contract or go to very different leagues to find hidden talent at a better price, which leads to a change in the search criteria and the advice given. A scenario that is just as variable as a change of coach or even ownership, which is common every season.

Vision of the future: new developments

Everything we have achieved over the years would also not be possible without the depth and innovation of all our technological products and services. Following this transfer market, we will be introducing several major technology developments to the market as part of our commitment to helping clubs, federations, agencies, leagues and academies make the best decisions.

Yours sincerely,

Salvador Carmona.
