‘Brasileirao 2023’: five U20 talents worth less than $5 million

We take a closer look at five U20 talents who have excelled in the Brasileirao 2023 and are worth less than $5 million.

Published:21/12/2023

Having just finished the Brasileirao 2023, which has once again proclaimed Palmeiras champions, it is time to take stock of our talent scouting. Brazil remains, unquestionably, the gold mine of world football talent, so going every few months to our system of alerts and performance indexes to discover talent is always a very productive task.

In this search we are going to describe and analyse six U20 players who have played at least 700 minutes, with a market value of less than 5 million euros and who have stood out for at least one major attribute to pay more specialised attention to. It won’t be easy to discriminate and select young talent in Brazil but if you want to know more about what data can do to find all the talent available in Brazilian football, drop us a line.

If we leave aside players who are already making a name for themselves in Europe, such as Gabriel Moscardó or Lucas Beraldo, we can find very interesting names who have already played an important role in their team or who, as we will see below, stand out for a special talent to watch out for.

Alexsander (Fluminense)

One of the most interesting midfielders in Diniz’s project. Not as important as Ganso or André Trindade, much more experienced, but with technical and defensive attributes of great potential, playing in different positions and adapting well to a methodology that has been booming in recent years. Left-footed player very calm on the ball, technical and creative at the same time, who has played indistinctly and with equal fluency as a winger or midfielder. Great projection and not so much named in the lists of best young players of 2023.

Wesley (Corinthians)

Player born with a gift, at the moment the best given his youth and deficits in other concepts: his extraordinary dribbling. The most prized among natural talents. In addition to his great unbalance he has a very powerful physique and very well formed for his age, which makes him a potential talent for the best leagues. With certain similarities to Savinho in his game, Wesley is a left winger but right-footed, with quality and speed to play both inside and outside. A profile that should not take long to move continent.

Dribbling, driving and ball progressions

Gustavo Martins (Gremio)

Central defender of great physical and technical conditions, with a good long movement, good vision to break lines from the first pass, good driving and very good wingspan and mobility for aerial play or defending big spaces against fast forwards.Good ability to anticipate and defend forward. One of the best young centre-backs currently playing in Brazil.

Victor Hugo (Flamengo)

Midfielder of enormous physical power, with a long route and continuous actions all over the field.A player who entered the scouting radars and networks a long time ago and whose market value does not match his level and the price for which he would go to a powerful market.Performs well above average in tackles, dribbles and key passes. An all-rounder with huge room for improvement.

Wesley Vinicius (Flamengo)

Very young full-back, who already appeared in our alert systems in the Brasileirao U-20. Classic long-range Brazilian full-back, imaginative and with good passing to build and go deep. More than 3000 minutes played this season between Brasileirao and Libertadores.
